In this post I described a very nice two days we’ve had in Aosta Valley this winter. There are many possible winter hikes in Aosta valley and we good really lucky with the weather. The snow have not been falling for few weeks so there was not too much powder and consequently it was not too hard to walk. We’ve been visiting Rehemes Valley and La Thuille, in two of the many valleys of this wonderful corner of Italy.
Winter in the Alps in the last years were pretty mild and this 2016 winter was not an exception so far. The temperature were not so cold and the snow did not fall abundant. That made the Aosta Valley winter hikes even easier to plan as it was possible to reach pretty high altitude without risk of avalanches or facing extreme temperatures. It was almost like a Spring hike indeed. We could reach in both days more than 2300 meters and we’ve been enjoying eonderful views over the Italian Alps covered in snow.
As you see we did reach pretty high peaks and we’ve had great view over Mont Blanc, Gran Combin and even Matterhorn and Monte Rosa from distance. It was a lovely 2 days and we really enjoy nice company and wonderful landscapes. I think the best is to leave to the images all the descriptions.
Have a wonderful winter everybody! In Aosta Valley or in any other mountains of the World.
