Self Guided Hikes

My brother and I had a fantastic three days hiking with Roberto. We stayed at the lovely Gran Paradiso B&B in Jovencan and went hiking each day in the beautiful Valle d'Aosta. We managed to pack in a lot, sight seeing, views of the mountains and close encounters with the wild life. Roberto has enormous experience as a guide and boundless enthusiasm for nature. (He was also very helpful when it came to changing hotels in Turin at the last minute! We can't thank him enough for this.) Brilliant trip. Will definitely be going back.

We LOVED the two days spent with Roberto! He took us to the most beautiful hiking locations and was very flexible and knew the area well, so when it started raining and being overcast he still knew the best places to take us. Such a wonderful experience.

Accommodations were great and our guide was an expert in the area. He was able to provide a hike that was suitable for our capabilities. Friendly, fun...would recommend this company to anyone!!

Irina (gf) and I hiked with the fantastic guide Enrico for a few days! I think just about anyone would enjoy Enrico. He is a really good hiker, and knows the areas well. He lets you set the pace of the adventure while making suggestions, and he also has lots of interesting things to talk about on a variety of subjects, including local information. I wouldn't say it was a "must-see" experience, but the hiking, cheese, wine, hut, and overall alps experience was very awesome. I enjoyed this much more than for just the visuals. Mt Blanc is probably the superior visual, which can be looked up on google images, but this was the superior experience. The food was absolutely amazing. Hiking was amazing. Paragliding was amazing. ALPS = AMAZING. ENRICO = SUPER AMAZING Word to the wise, the hiking was unlike any American hiking I've ever done. I do most of my hiking in tennis shoes or flip flops, even if it's a big 10 mile approach to a rock climbing destination. You can't get away with that on these types of trails. It's just a different type of hiking - more technical for sure. Proper grip shoes and hiking poles strongly recommended. I'm glad I heeded Enrico's advice and brought proper hiking shoes.

Trekking Alps is a very good service for hiking in the Italian Alps. Roberto was amazingly helpful in providing us with prompt replies to emails. He organized two incredibly beautiful hikes in the Aosta valley. The weather was perfect and we had a lot of fun. I would definitely recommend Roberto to anyone looking to hike in the Italian Alps!
